Turkey is a land of sun, sea and history. Comprising of over 90% of the country, the Anotolian peninsula is one of the few places in the word that has been continuously inhabited since the dawn of mankind. As the torch light of one civilization in Anatolia dimmed, that of its successor began to gleam. As a result, this peninsula has embraced an unbroken chain of civilizations reaching well back into-the remote past. This is one reason why remains of some 15,000 ancient archacological sites-many of which have not even begun to be excavated – are found in Turkey today.
